Catalyst Potential

It is important to look beyond the numbers and seek a likely catalysts, which could unlock value, and estimate how long it will take for the catalyst to play out. These events, or Catalyst Potential, reduce risk by narrowing the gap between price and value in a more predictable way. This is particularly important when investing in a low-quality business where time is like a ticking bomb stacked against the company.

Catalyst Potential is a Premium members feature in Redeye Universe.

Leadership

Exclusive for members
The focus in Care and the associated acquisitions was initiated and executed by the former Management. However, the new CEO and most of his team are brand new, creating some uncertainty, although partly offset by experience in the Board. As for execution, the last years have been clouded by recurring profit warnings. However, sales growth has been strong throughout Doro’s history and Doro has often let the strong numbers speak for themselves, although we would prefer a bit more transparency.

Doro is a more than 40 years old Small Cap company, developing and manufacturing telecommunication products for seniors (people with the age of 65 or older) since year 2007. The products are sold in more than 30 countries. Doro’s leading position is based on a wide and global distribution network and a strong brand that the target group can trust. This has resulted in a market share of some 50 percent in Western Europe, but Doro is number one in several other markets as well. The major weakness is the ownership structure with no large, industrial owner. Doro employs about 500 people. Sales and operating earnings amounted to SEK 1 838 and 95 million respectively during 2015. Less...
